Filtration & Pumps
Sand Filters
Our Sand Filters are commercial grade wound fibreglass filters. They are corrosion-resistant, abrasion proof and are perfectly suited to the constant increase and decreases in pressure experienced by sand filters. Maintenance of these filters is minimal – cleaning the filter simply requires turning the multi-port lever from the ‘filter’ position to the ‘backwash’ position.
Cartridge Filters
Our Cartridge Filters use state-of-the-art materials for outstanding reliability and performance. Water passes though a filter material and the filter captures the debris. This is just like the water filters used under your sink. There are two types of cartridge filters in general. In the first case, there are filter elements that are inexpensive to replace and as such, they don’t tend to last as long. Then there are other filters that have very expensive elements and these last 5 or more years. In both cases, cartridge filters are designed to run at lower pressure than sand. This puts less back-pressure on the pump and hence you get more flow and turnover for an equivalent pump size. Generally these filters have to be cleaned once or twice a season by simply hosing them off, so you don’t touch them as often.
Viron P300 Pool Pump
Developed in Australia, the patented Viron motor is the first to be approved by MEPS with an outstanding 8 STAR ENERGY RATING. Unlike conventional single speed motors, which work at maximum capacity at all times, the Viron P300 can operate at Eco, Cleaning & Turbo speeds, reducing your electricity consumption dramatically. With the Viron P300 installed you will have the advantage of reduced wear and tear on your filtration, allowing more efficient cleaning of your media filter. Lower flow and lower pressure during the filtration cycle extends the life of all pool equipment and reduces the lifetime operating costs of the swimming pool. Pollard Pools & Spas are licensed installers of the Viron P300.
Sanitisation
Salt Chlorinators
Salt Chlorinators continually generate the precise level of chlorine required to sanitise a pool. Chlorine output can be adjusted and operating hours can be preset. We provide a “self cleaning” unit, extending the working life of the cell and virtually eliminating maintenance.
MagnaPool
MagnaPool use a blend of Magnesium & Potassium minerals to produce water that is extremely gentle and therapeutic on sensitive skin. It delivers a healthier and more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional salt or heavily chlorinated pools by creating water that is beneficial for general health and well-being. Click on our MagnaPool tab for further information.
Cleaning
Automatic PCC 2000 In-Floor Cleaning System
Automatic PCC 2000 In-Floor Cleaning & Vantage Systems eliminate the need to manually vacuum your swimming pool. Each cleaning system is custom designed and uses pop-up nozzles built into the floor of the pool to facilitate the removal of dirt and debris via the MDX drain. Our automatic cleaning systems are available in concrete and fibreglass pools.
Automatic Pool Cleaners
No matter what pool you have – concrete, fibreglass or vinyl we provide automatic pool cleaners to make life easier.
Heating
Solar
Solar heating systems work using the natural energy of the sun. The pool water is pumped up onto the roof where it is heated as it runs through a network of tubes. Using Flat Loop technology the solar tubes sit completely flat against the roof. Our expert installers will design the system to suit your roof, and advise on the best aspect for installation - which takes only one day. This unique system can be installed on any roofing material - difficult or unusual roofs are our specialty. Each unit is designed for your specific requirements, with the option of temperature controls, separate plumbing systems and other automatic options.
By reducing the gas or electricity you use for pool heating, solar heating is the only pool heating system that actually pays for itself over time.
Heat Pumps
An emerging method of heating pools is the heat pump pool heater. A heat pump's efficiency is dependent on the outside temperature and since pools are usually used during warm and mild weather, heat pumps are a very efficient method of heating pools. Heat pumps do not generate heat; they simply capture it and move it from one place to another. Efficiency is one consideration in buying a pool heater, but you should also consider the reputation of the manufacturer and/or dealer who will install your heater. Pollard Pools & Spas are licensed installers of Solar and Heat Pumps.
Control System
Automatic Control Systems
Automatic control systems provide convenient pool and spa operation at the touch of a button, managing everything from swimming pool and spa heaters, water features, lighting, sanitisation and automatic cleaning systems. From a button touch inside your home you can fully adjust any operation of your pool.
